The new corporate face is here to stay.

Nissan’s updated corporate logo made its debut in July 2020, worn in full glory by the Ariya all-electric crossover. It’s the first model to sport the new branding, and for those still reeling from the change, another upcoming Nissan model will be carrying it as well.

The fourth-generation Almera brings the new Nissan logo to the Malaysian market

That would be the fourth-generation Nissan Almera sedan, which is expected to break cover in Malaysia soon. For the official reveal however, the refreshed logo will not be seen on the actual car (or any local model) just yet. Nevertheless, this will be a glimpse of things to come for the Malaysian market, and what they can expect from Nissan’s lineup in the months to come.

Nissan takes a step into the digital era with its updated logo design

The carmaker’s refreshed identity retains the Nissan text cutting across a circular motif, but with a more streamlined look. The font has been slimmed down, the circle is thinner, and the original bar subtly disappears when the design is illuminated, making it more apt for the digital era. Apart from physical badges, the new logo will also make its way across a range of other media, ranging from corporate letterheads and dealership signs to social media posts and online advertising.

Four iterations of the logo will be utilized, with Nissan’s electric vehicles featuring an exclusive illuminated version lit by 20 LEDs, representing the two decades between logo redesigns.

The new Almera has already made its ASEAN debut in Thailand

Meanwhile, the upcoming 2021 Almera is touted to be a true upgrade over the current-generation model, sporting better proportions and sharper looks, with an updated V-Motion grille shared with the Sylphy and Teana. The revised interior features more soft-touch surfaces and better build quality, with a new 8-inch infotainment system featuring Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, AUX input, and USB connectivity. Under the hood, a 1.0L turbocharged engine powers the front wheels, working in tandem with an XTRONIC continuously variable transmission.

A full complement of safety tech includes six airbags, Nissan Intelligent Mobility and Safety Shield, comprising Intelligent Collision Warning, Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Intelligent Around View Monitor, and Intelligent Emergency Braking.
