American-badged Chinese-sourced Chevrolet Captiva 2019 revealed

The second-gen Chevrolet Captiva 2019 is developed from the Baojun 530.

The second-gen Chevrolet Captiva 2019 has been recently revealed. It is worth noting that the crossover was born to be an Amerian-badged Chinese model, which is considered as a new step of Chevrolet after selling its Opel to Peugeot.

According to the latest car news, the Captiva 2019 is built based on the Baojun 530 which is one of General Motors' joint venture brands in China with SAIC. So it can be understood that the Captiva and the Baojun 530 are indeed products of GM.

The crossover was born to be an Amerian-badged Chinese model

The new Chevrolet Captiva 2019 is now adorned with a multi-slatted piece, plus the outstanding Chevrolet logo. Its wheels look a bit different and its interior also seems to be rebadged.  At the front fascia, the new Captiva gets slim headlamps and defined bumper corners, narrowed grilled than the Chevrolet Captiva 2017 for salealong with elegant lines on the windows. Meanwhile, the rear comes with a large tailgate which is decorated with outstanding character lines.

Under the hood, the Captiva 2019 is powered by a 1.5L turbocharged engine with more power, producing 145 hp and 230 Nm of torque, mated to a CVT with 6 simulated gears.

At present, it is still not sure whether the Asia-Pacific region will welcome the China-sourced Chevrolet Captiva or not.
