1. Suzuki cars Philippines: Overview

Suzuki is entrenched deeply in the Philippine automotive market as they been here for quite a while now. Whether it be with their motorcycles, their cars or even their marine engines, they have provided Filipinos with reliable, durable and of course, economical products which regardless if you’re a fan or not you would appreciate greatly.

In a more international context, Suzuki or Suzuki Motor Corporation is a Japanese corporation engaged in manufacturing a very wide array of products from cars to wheelchairs. In 2016, Suzuki became the 11th largest in the world in terms of manufacturing and 10th in terms of sales.

Suzuki in the Philippines is represented by Suzuki Philippines Inc. or SPI for short. While they do very well with their motorcycles, they’ve also brought to us the likes of the Alto, Ertiga, Swift, Grand Vitara, the APV and the Celerio. All of which are small, easy to handle and very affordable vehicles to own and maintain.

Model: Suzuki S-Presso
Variant: GL 1.0 MT
Price: P523,000

Suzuki Alto 0.8 liter MT

The all-new S-Presso is a replacement for the  Suzuki Alto. This compact hatchback may be small, but it has an aura of an SUV that Pinoy car guys will definitely love.

Inside, the Celerio is a little more upmarket than the Alto with its touchscreen infotainment system, Bluetooth connectivity, a navigation system, USB and AUX ports, etc.

As for safety, the Celerio comes equipped with dual front airbags, ABS, parking sensors and child safety locks.

Suzuki Dzire GL MT

Initially made for the Indian market, the Dzire subcompact sedan was launched in the Philippines back in 2013 as the Swift Dzire it is indeed similar to the Swift which it is based on. Think of it as a more affordable, sedan version of the Swift.

For engines, the Dzire gets a 1.2 liter, inline-4 gasoline engine which makes up to 82 horsepower and 113 Nm of torque. The Suzuki Dzire either gets a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed automatic.

Inside, the Dzire is quite similar specifically with the 2nd generation of the Swift. It comes with modern creature comforts like an infotainment touchscreen, Bluetooth connectivity, and many others.

For safety, it has ABS, EBD, dual front airbags, etc. Also of note is the Dzire’s rear AC vents which for an entry-level sedan is quite a nice addition

Suzuki Alto 0.8 liter MT

Being one of the most affordable cars in the country, the Alto despite its small dimensions is a competent and durable vehicle ideal for traveling through city traffic.

Now in its sixth generation, the Alto comes from a long line of models which dates back to 1979 and throughout the years has gone through numerous changes. The most recent version available in the Philippines comes with a 0.8 liter or 800 cc inline-3 gasoline engine that can make 47 horsepower and 68 nm of torque.

The Alto’s interior while being simple and not as well equipped as the Celerio, can still comfortably fit 4 people. It also comes with a decent set of safety equipment like front airbags, ABS, etc.
