Subaru XV 2018 finally arrives with improved performance and retained price tag

Recently, Subaru PH has announced there would be no change in the price of the latest Subaru XV 2018 regardless of the increase in excise tax. Apart from that, what else do you want to know about the latest Subaru SUV? 

Last month, Subaru introduced its high-performing small SUV – the Subaru XV 2018. The Japanese firm was not shy in revealing that the new crossover would make its debut in the Philippines sometime in the future, likely September 2017. Well, that time has arrived as the new Subaru has finally hit our shores.

The second-generation model is said to be more solid and helps improve driving performance and overall handling, the brand-new Subaru XV now gets an upgraded 2.0-liter naturally aspirated Subaru Boxer engine that churns out 196Nm at 4,000rpm and 154hp at 6,000rpm. All that car grunt is coursed through a Lineartronic transmission which is said to be snappier and considerably lighter.

The Subaru XV 2018 comes with the all-new iteration with X-Mode that provides a better performance by optimizing the transmission, engine, brakes, and the vehicle dynamics control. Under the new XV 2018 is a new platform called the Subaru Global Platform. According to the manufacturer, this platform presents a reduce of roll vibration of the full vehicle and 70% more rigid than its previous models, providing a greater driving pleasure.

As for the interior, owners are greeted by an updated dashboard and better materials. The centerpiece is the 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system that features Apple CarPlay connectivity and navigation. Owners will also be treated to amenities like 7 airbags, vehicle dynamics control, engine immobilizer, and brake assist, just to name a few.
